Hypnotherapy
How hypnotherapy works
Often the thing holding us back from achieving our goals or living our best life is something within. Negative self-beliefs, behaviours or thought processes that we have learned along life’s path are stored in our subconscious and although originally may have been useful to protect us from harmful situations they may have become unhelpful along the way, and are having a negative effect on your life. Hypnotherapy works by using a relaxed state of hypnosis allowing us to access the subconscious and replace any negative thought patterns or beliefs with new positive thoughts and beliefs. In effect, it is a form of reprogramming.
I offer a safe space for you to relax and feel at ease. I start by listening to your goals and finding out what is standing in the way of you achieving them. Getting to know you and your goals will help me to devise a treatment plan to work on the areas that are holding you back.
There are many areas that hypnotherapy can help with, including, anxiety, stress, fears, phobias and habit-breaking. If you don’t see your issue listed then give me a call to discuss your needs and to see how I can help.

Stress and anxiety
Stress and anxiety often go hand in hand or they can be two separate issues. They are both emotional responses and have similar symptoms.
When faced with fear our body releases stress hormones which trigger a physiological response known as fight or flight, it is our body’s way of protecting us and in some situations can be useful and will do just that. However, sometimes our body may perceive a situation as a threat when in actual fact there is no threat there, this will send the body into fight or flight mode and we experience unbearable anxiety.
Hypnotherapy can help identify the triggers for stress and anxiety and once identified a personalised plan can be put together to help ease the symptoms and make your stress or anxiety manageable.

Breaking habits
Breaking habits is extremely difficult due to them being deeply ingrained within your lifestyle. Bad habits can develop as a coping mechanism for anxiety, stress, relationship problems and emotional life events.
There may be a number of reasons why you’ve decided to stop doing something that you’re doing. Whether it’s affecting your health, your relationships or your career, you’ve taken the first important step of deciding to do something about it. Well done you!
Habits are learned responses. What has been learned can be unlearned.
Hypnotherapy can help by changing the way you think and your relationship with the habit. If you’d like to discuss your own habit and discover how hypnotherapy can help, simply book a call with Karen. She’ll listen to what you’re going through and talk to you about how hypnotherapy can help.

Fears and Phobias
Fears and Phobias, we are born with only two fears. A fear of falling and a fear of loud noises.
Most other fears and phobias are learned along life’s path, either by our own experiences or learned from others around us. Some fears are good and healthy and act to protect us from harm. Others are irrational and can hold us back in many ways.
You may be aware of an event or situation that happened where your fear or phobia began, or you may not be aware of when or how it started. Either way, hypnotherapy can help. There are a variety of techniques that can be used to free you from a fear or phobia that is holding you back from enjoying life to the full.
